REGULATIONS
Art.1. Sponsored by the Provincial Administration of Teramo and the Municipal Administration of Atri and in collaboration with the «G. Braga» Institute for Advanced Musical Studies, the Rotary Club Teramo Est is pleased to announce the XXII Music competition ‘Rotary Club Teramo Est’ for young musician.
Art.2.The competition is open to all young musicians of both sexes .
Art.3. The competition comprises the following SECTIONS AND CATEGORIES:
Section 1 – Piano Solo Section 2 – Strings Solo Section 3 – Guitar Solo
Section 4 – Wind Solo Section 5 – Accordion Solo Section 6 – Voice Solo
Section 7 – Chamber Music
The programme choice is free and consists of the following categories:
Category A: for candidates born between 2009 - 2012 Category B: for candidates born between 2003 - 2008
Maximum duration 5 minutes Maximum duration 10 minutes
Category C: for candidates born between 2000 -2002 Category D: for candidates born between 1996- 1999
Maximum duration 15 minutes Maximum duration 15 minutes
Category E: for candidates born between 1991 - 1995 Category F: for candidates born between 1986 - 1990
Maximum duration 20 minutes Maximum duration 20 minutes
Section 8 – Lower Secondary Schools with music specialism
Category G: solos Category H: Chamber Music Ensembles
Maximum duration 5 minutes (with a minimum of two members for either voice,
instruments, or both) Maximum duration 10 minutes
All competitors may be accompanied by their own pianist or alternatively by the festival pianist by sending a further €30 in addition to the registration fee to the following bank account: IBAN code: IT 62 B 03268 76720 052897099240; bank name: Banca Sella Spa; branch: Alba Adriatica; payable to ‘Rotary Club Teramo Est’ – payment reference piano accompanist.
Art 4. The Adjudicating Panel will be formed of well-known musicians, high school music teachers and the Rotary Club Teramo Est President or his/her representative. The President of the Panel will be named by the Artistic Director of the Festival. The Panel reserves the right to choose the pieces to be performed from those presented by the candidate and if appropriate to stop a performance. The Panel may choose not to award the Scholarship if no candidate is deemed a worthy recipient. The Panel may also split one or more scholarships between a number of candidates and furthermore may award special prizes to competitors of particular distinction.
Art 5. The Panel may stop a performance if the required time duration is exceeded. Competitors’ names will be called out at the beginning of each category to confirm their attendance. Competitors must provide proof of identity and a copy of their chosen pieces before beginning the performance.
Art 6. Marks will be given out of 100. All competitors will receive a certi_cate and medal in accordance with the following:

Art 7. Winners of the outright First prize in each category will receive the following scholarship:

A scholarship of € 1,500.00 will also be awarded to the best overall competitor, regardless of category. The scholarship will go towards attendance at a master class at the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg or at a similar music academy to be decided by the Rotary Club Teramo Est.
Art 8. Registration fees are as follows:
Soloist Sections:
Categories A and B- € 35.00 (thirtyfive); Categories C and D - € 40.00 (forty); Categories E and F - € 40.00 (forrty); Category G - € 30.00 (thirty);
Chamber Music Section (up to a maximum of €120.00 per group):
Categories A and B - € 35.00 (thirtyfive); Categories C and D - € 40.00 (forty); Categories E and F - € 40.00 (forty);
Category H - €30.00 (thirty);
Competitors are given the option of being included as members of more than one ensemble, provided relevant registration fees are met.
Art 9. Competitors must submit their registration form on plain paper, prepared in accordance with the attached form by 12 May 2017 (as confirmed by the postmark). The form should be sent to the following address: Uniservices Srl Z.I. C.da Trinity - 64046 MONTORIO AL VOMANO (TE) - Tel 086159061 Fax 08615906219 email: segreteria2@calendariodellasalute.it and enclose the following documents: a) birth certificate or photocopy of proof of identity or self-certification, certification of school attendance and consent of the head teacher for lower secondary school students with music specialism ; b) a brief academic CV with list of teachers; c) consent of parents exercising parental authority for candidates under 18; d) section and choice of category, with an indication of ensemble (if any) and programme and e) payment receipt for festival registration fee credited to bank account: IBAN code IT 62 B 03268 76720 052897099240; bank name: Banca Sella SpA; branch: Alba Adriatica payable to: ‘Rotary Club Teramo Est’ – payment reference ‘ XVI concorso di esecuzione musicale 'Teramo Est'. In the event of failure to pay the registration fee, the candidate will not be admitted to participate in the festival and the same fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
Art 10. The winners will perform free of charge at the prizewinners’ concert to be held on 28 May 2017 at 7pm at the Teatro Comunale in Atri (TE). The scholarship of €1,500.00 will be awarded to the winner during a public concert on the occasion of the next awarding of the prize (if necessary, an advance of €500.00 may be granted to cover costs incurred). Any refusal will result in the cancellation of the award.
Art 11. Competitors must attend selection auditions with an identification document on the date, time and place communicated by the secretary of the Competition..
Art 12. Depending on the number of candidates registered and unforeseen organisational requirements, the Rotary Club Teramo Est reserves the right to change the date, time and place of the festival, subject to advance notice being given to competitors.
Art 13. Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of the above. For any dispute you must report to italian text, and the competent jurisdiction shall be the Court of Teramo.
